Premier Apartments Bristol Accessibility

 

Introduction

Premier Services Apartments were built in 2002 on the site of an old tobacco bond warehouse. A section of the old warehouse remains to the red brick end of the building. Access to the apartments and reception is to the rear of the apartments through a large double gate.

 

Pre-Arrival

• We have a company website at www.premierapartmentsbristol.com. We are also listed on major booking websites. Bookings/enquires can be made via email at info@premierapartmentsbristol.com / Fax on 10079 544900 / Phone 01179 544800. The nearest bus stop is located on Victoria Street, just a 2 minute walk form the apartments. The nearest train station is Temple Meads, which is a 8 minute walk from the apartments, there are accessible taxis available from the station. Bus numbers 8 and 9 travel from the station to Clifton via Victoria Street. The airport bus stops at Temple Meads Train station
• We have a hearing loop at reception to help the hearining impaired who use an aid. We can arrange for shopping to be delivered to the apartments.

 

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• Luggage can be unloaded at the rear of the apartments.There is on street parking at the front of the apartments and a car park located in Portwall lane at £8.00 per day, just a 2 minute walk away. There is courtyard parking for 16 cars at the rear (accessed through a double gate). The entrance to the rear has a step of 17 cm high with hand rails either side. There is an alternative level entrance through double doors from the parking area via the courtyard. Courtyard parking is immediately outside the apartments, up to 10 metres away. Access to the rear is via a sloping courtyard with a slightly uneven surface (paving stones).

 

Main Entrance & Reception

• Apartment block:
• The exterior entrance is via a fob/code pad. Doors are open until 9pm, once you have been buzzed in to the car park. Bell is to attract staff attention - bell height - front gate 122cm, Main door level access 127cm, access to rooms 1to 6 annex from seperate entrance, fob swipe 129cm. Once guests have checked in they are given a key fob to access both the gate and main building. Entrance 1 to recpeption at the front has 1 step - 17 cm high, It has a hand rail to te left and right. The door opens inwards with a hinge on the left. This is 66cm wide with one door open and 134 both doors fully open. The door has a weather board 2 cms thick. The level access entrance is 75cm. The corridor width is 136 in all areas, although fire extinguishers take up sapce. The entrance hall wall to wall is 350cm, the walkway to lift staircase is 107cm.

• Small seating area for 2 persons in the reception area - same dimensions as a one bed apartment.

Bedrooms

• Door width 78cm in all external and internal  apartment doors. 1 bed apartment - limited number of twin beds (90 x 190 cm), rest double bed (135cm x 190 cm). 2 bed apartment - limited number of zip and link beds (150cm x 200cm when together king size)/doubles, rest double beds (135cm x 190cm)
• 2 duplex apartments set out over 2 floors - narrow staircase with small lading area 1/2 way up. Bed height is 70cm. Free space around bed min 100cm by 338cm, allowing for door swing. Non feather duvets and pillows provided
• Sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are cotton. Bed is movable if more space is required to one side.

 

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]

• All one and two bed apartments have one bathroom/shower. Maximum of 5 adults to share 2 bed apartment (this is with an additional z-bed). Door width is 78cm. Bath has fixed pipe shower over with angled hand rail on the wall. Shower controls on large mixer tap on bath - lift and turn to operate. Shower screen can be pivoted to gain access to the bath. Bath dimensions 54cm heigh 54cm wide and 169cm long. Toilet seat height is 40cm. Flooring is tiled
• Good colour contrast between floor, walls and furniture. Release mechanism on outside of locked door. Washbasin is fixed into a tiled tiled unit with shelf.

 

Self-Catering Kitchen

• Kitchen is open plan with dining/living area. Door from corridors is 78cm.
• Worktop height is 92cm. Oven door is dropdown, height on the lowest shelf is 38cm, can be accessed from the side. Sink is 92cm high with cupboards underneath. Hob is 92cm high and is powered by electric. Flooring is tiled in the kitchen area. At least 60cm free space between all furniture and worktops. 
• Evenly lit kitchen with spotlights above worksurfaces where required. Good contrast between floor, cupboards and other surfaces. Integrated fridge with highest shelf at 178cm. Integrated freezer with lowest shelf at 38cm. Dishwasher is drop down with the highest shelf at 40cm. Washer dryer is front loaded.

Additional Information

• Guest Directory is produced in size 10 font as standard  - A larger font is available at request form the General Manager. Good mobile phone reception with all networks. Evacuation during office hours is lead by the Duty Manager. Out of office hours, customers must make their way to the assembly point at the front of the apartments. As reception is not 24 hours, customers must be able to make their way to the Fire Assembly point at the front of the building.  All apartments are non-smoking. No pets allowed.
